At least one approved range officer must be present when members use the range, whether at a scheduled shoot or a private event. The following range officers may be available to unlock the gate for you, but making arrangements at least 24 hours in advance is best.

SHOOTING EVENTS

The ranges are located back the lane past the lodge, at the bottom of the hill. At least one Range Officer MUST be present during any shooting event. If you wish to have a private event, contact one of the range officers listed on the right side of this page; a charge may apply for non-members.

Shoots are open to members and non-members. Non-members pay a higher charge.

X-card – Held September through April on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at 10 a.m. Contact Fuzzy Gilpin or Brian Mead for more information.

Rimfire Challenge – Rimfire Challenge is a 22 rifle and pistol program created to introduce new people to shooting sports and provide a pathway to shooting competition. Developed with safety in mind, it can be completed by even the most inexperienced shooter and can provide individuals or families with a fun and exciting first-time competitive shooting experience.
Experienced participants share their tips and shooting knowledge to help new and novice shooters improve their proficiency, and matches emphasize this friendly, supportive aspect of the event. Our Rimfire Challenge is open to members and non-members, April through October on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 12 noon. Contact Jonathan Picering for details.

Bench Rifle – Held May through October on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 10 a.m. Contact XXX for more information.

Open shooting – Held May through October on the following days of the week: Tuesday, 5-8 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.-12 noon; Saturday, 12 noon-3 p.m. Contact XXX for more information.

OTHER EVENTS

Trout Derby – Fishing for trout and other fish at Eyman Park on a specified day in late April or beginning of May (check calendar and announcements for date). All youth under the age of 16 may fish for free from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and may keep up to six fish. All youth will receive lunch (usually a hot dog, chips, a cookie and a soft drink) free; extras may be purchased by youth and adults.  Door prizes will also be available. Anyone over the age of 16 may not fish until after 2 p.m., and must have a valid State of Ohio fishing license.  Fish are stocked by Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Youth Outdoor Skills Day – Held the 2nd Saturday in June and September from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., for youth from ages 5 to 16. Kids get a chance to shoot, fish, learn a craft, and other activities. Adults are welcome to observe and to take part if there is room available. Free lunch. Contact XXX for more information.

Fall and Spring Raffles – Purchase tickets to win a wide variety of goods from local and national businesses and organizations, from shooting supplies to gift certificates.  Fall Raffle tickets available  in November (drawing in December); spring tickets available in March (drawing in May).  Contact Butch Wyatt for more information.

Association Information

Membership is open to any member of the public, not just residents of Fayette County. Dues are $25 per calendar year, $5 for junior members (16 and under). Membership for those with 10 years of consecutive membership and over the age of 65 is free. Renewals are due upon receipt of notification. New members paying dues after October 1 will be a member for the following year. Membership forms are available from Skip Mitchell or from the container on the sign outside the lodge.

Membership meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of every month. Dinner is served at 7 p.m. (Donation requested) and the meeting begins at 7.30 p.m.

Members potluck suppers are held twice a year, in the late spring and fall. Check the calendar for dates. Announcements will be posted to the home page approximately two weeks in advance.
